You are welcome to stay here, but in the off chance you want to see something else…

During my daily surfing for photography related websites, I come across some that are interesting and I would like to share some of them with you (you may know them already, but I’ll post them anyway) so that when you are done browsing over here (like never!) you can mosey on there…

In no particular order then:

dpreview.com – one of the best gear related sites around with very comprehensive reviews of cameras and lenses. It also includes a very extensive forum with a very detailed categorisation and tons of knowledgeable people. Also, one can post their images there and even participate in competitions.

dxomark.com – if you are one of those people that numbers mean a great deal to, this is the place to be. DxOMark tests and ranks sensors and lenses, using  scientific methods and metrics. It is widely accepted as one of the premier tools of its type.

stevehuffphoto.com – a different way to talk about gear; more real life reviews from a guy who has gone through enough gear to know what works and what doesn’t.

kenrockwell.com – Ken Rockewell has a tendency to polarise people; his views are pretty controversial but he does have views on gear and he has been around for so long in professional capacities that his views are at least well documented and robust.

luminous-landscape.com – as they themselves put it, it is the photographer’s knowledge resource and it includes articles, reviews and how-to’s and fora.

digital-photography-school.com – a well read site dealing with practical issues and how-to’s of digital photography. Doesn’t hurt to brush up on those skills once every blue moon (or more frequently for that matter!)

http://ilovehatephoto.com – another all-inclusive site with gear reviews, tutorials, articles of general photographic interest and a section on travel.

https://stuckincustoms.com – Trey Ratcliff is a celebrated travel photographer and he shares views, images, tools, gear reviews, the whole nine yards.

petapixel.com – news and views on photography related issues. Easy read, light, spend a few minutes on it to see if anything captures your attention.

thephoblographer.com – the motto is “bridging tech and creative photography” so you get the picture. Again, an easy read for news bits that are current and interesting.

nationalgeographic.com – I have yet to see someone who isn’t awed by the quality of NatGeo’s photography. I love it and it is a source not only of inspiration, but also daydreaming – hey, NatGeo HR recruiters, are you listening? 😉

magnumphotos.com – maybe one of the most celebrated and widely recognized community of its kind, Magnum is home to some of the most influential photographers in the world, including Capa, Cartier-Bresson, Koudelka, Manos, McCurry, to name but a few. Mind you, browsing through the work of photography masters can work miracles for your photography as well!

This list of sites will be maintained and updated as I come across others that seem interesting – check back!
